January

The Fanwood Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering a free safety course on Saturday, January 12th at the Forest Road Park Building in Fanwood, from 9am until 3pm. This course will cover an introduction to the CERT program, Home Fire Safety and Terrorism/Major Disaster Awareness. Click here to register for the Fanwood CERT Training Course #1.

The Fanwood Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering a free safety course on Saturday, February 9th at the Forest Road Park Building in Fanwood, from 9am until 3pm. This course will cover CERT Organization, Light Search and Rescue and a pre-practical exercise. Click here to register for the Fanwood CERT Training Course #3.
The last CERT course in the series is the Practical course on Saturday. February 23rd and will be held at the Linden Fire Academy. It will run from 9am until 2pm.

March 29th is "National Baseball Card Day" Founded in 2006, National Baseball Card Day gives kids and parents the opportunity to interact with other collectors in their area and connect with their favorite players. A Little Shop of Comics at 393 Park Ave in Scotch Plains will be celebrating the day for children, parents, collectors and anyone who loves baseball; they can come to receive a free pack of 2008 Major League Baseball cards as part of the day, while supplies last. The Sovereign Bank in Fanwood is offering some specials for new checking account customers through May 30th:
- Sovereign Free Checking : Opening deposit must be $100.00. If you order a VISA Checkcard & set up direct deposit within first 60 days. If they meet these requirements the bank will add $75.00 as a cash bonus to their account.
